St. Clements Parish will host a day of prayer and reflection on Signs, Symbols & Eucharist.
Mary Deeley, PhD and Fr. Ken Simpson will lead us in a participative, interactive, prayerful reflection on the signs and symbols of our liturgical prayer. Following lunch, Fr. Ken Simpson will preside at a “teaching Mass” as he dialogues with Dr. Deeley, inviting us to discover and deepen the connection between Mass and our daily lives.

Mary Deeley, Ph.D., ministers as a Spiritual Director, Retreat Facilitator, speaker, and author. She served for 25 years as Pastoral Associate at the Sheil Catholic Center of Northwestern University. Mary has presented on diverse topics such as evangelization, discernment, preaching, liturgical and Celtic Spirituality, prayer, ministry and leadership. She particularly likes speaking to and working with young adults about Catholicism and discernment.
Rev Kenneth Simpson, ordained in 1978 for the Archdiocese of Chicago, has ministered in a variety of settings, including Associate Pastor at St Michael, Orland Park, Pastor of St Clement, and Administrator of Old St Patrick. He also served as Vice Rector of the college seminary and Director of Sheil Catholic Center at Northwestern University. He served as the first Vicar for Pastoral and Professional Development of Priests. And now as Senior Priest, continues to assist that office as a consultant as well as serve as a chaplain to the staff of Catholic Charities. He is also currently engaged in projects aimed at improving preaching. He resides with first year seminarians in their Propaedeutic Year and presides at Mass around the Archdiocese.
