Synod on Synodality

Over the past three years, Pope Francis has led the Church in the Synod on Synodality, a process of sharing, listening, and praying, so that the Church might become more aware of and responsive to the needs of her people. AGLO has helped lead this dialogue.

The most current Vatican document about the Synod on Synodality is the Instrumentum Laboris (link below), which summarizes the first part of the synod and discussions held during the October 2023 meeting.

As part of the process of reflecting on this document, AGLO conducted two Listening Sessions, or Spiritual Conversations, for the LGBTQ+ community, and offered an online survey option. We submitted a summary report to the Archdiocese of Chicago, which became part of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ report to the Vatican. We continue to stay engaged in the Synod process and update this page regularly.
